‘Throwback Thursday’

Thursday again so a photograph from my past.
Belfast, 1988(ish), was not the scary place of the ‘70’s, it could be bad, but whilst the bombs and attacks tended to be more targeted life could still be pretty uncomfortable for military personnel out and about.
But once you realised that there were only around two hundred and fifty people who wished you serious harm supposedly supported by half the population you could, with care, get out and about and meet people, see places and enjoy a beautiful part of the United Kingdom.
This photograph was taken inside the Port Side Inn in Belfast’s docks area, I was out with two close friends, locals, and the opportunity to let your hair down didn’t come along often.
They were happy days, exciting days, you felt that you were achieving something, making a difference.
