Lowther Castle

Very much an experimental blip.  Last night Clickychick and I watched a tutorial for a recent Photography magazine.  It was dealing with making a photo look as if it had been painted.  We were both keen to have a go at the technique.

So despite the pouring rain we set off in the afternoon intending to take photos of a pretty village on the way to the castle and the castle, then of course apply the technique.  Fortunately the heavy rain had more or less ceased by the time we got to the village.  So some shots there and then on to Lowther and the Castle.

I was rather surprised at how quiet it was because as we turned into the drive we spotted a poster for some doggie event or other.  It must have been either rained off or they had gone home.  After taking the shots it was into for coffee and cake.

The blip is done just applying the settings shown in the tutorial.  I will at some point try again with my own setting tried out.  You have been warned!
