I got up early so I could track Neil on the phone app as he ran the Berlin Marathon.. The app was great and I could watch the little arrow as he progressed around the course - as well as seeing what his time was at each stage. As far as I could tell he was on schedule all the way. He was aiming for around 3 hours and his actual time was 3hrs 3 mins. A personal best. His previous best time was 3hrs19 mins. I have added a photo in my Extras of Neil before he started running. Rachael was cheering him on at a few points round the course and at the finish. I'm so proud of him especially as so far he has raised £750 for the Alzheimers Society.

Today is the 18th anniversary of Douglas' death. When he died Becky was only 18 and Neil was 17 so he has missed so much. He would be so proud of them both for all they have achieved especially their running exploits as he was a keen runner himself. When they were little he tried to get them interested in running and they did take part in a lot of different events but they didn't really enjoy it back then. Now its a different story - they love running.
It has rained the whole day so I have stayed indoors. Got on with a few chores including the ironing. As you can see in my blip shot Tino and Lily were quite happy to stay indoors too. Lily snuggled down on the bedroom floor between the bed and the radiator and Tino was in the living room on the radiator bed. Sensible cats.

At 4.30pm I started listening to the match on the radio. Newcastle were playing away at Leicester. The match started off badly and went from bad to worse. Newcastle were soon 1 - 0 down. Then they had a player sent off. They were poor with 11 men never mind 10. The final score was Leicester 5 Newcastle 0. Shocking.
