The gear isn't everything!

Back to working away from home a few days a week and back in Birmingham. It's fairly impractical to cart the dslr, tripod, etc with me so on these trips I usually have to make do with my compact camera or iphone to capture my daily blips.

I'm determined this year to try and take as many creative images as possible and not resort to a shot for a shots sake (although I've already had to do a couple of them). As I was walking through Brindley Place to get some dinner these fountains gave me an idea for a shot I probably wouldn't risk with the 'big' camera. I balanced the compact right on the edge of the water and set it onto a ten second timer, hey presto this popped out! Quite pleasing for a compact.
