Tui feasting..
on the kowhai tree. The pollen on it's head shows just how far into the flowers they go with their long beaks, ripping the flowers apart in the process. This smaller tree is one which has grown from a sprouted seed underneath the bigger older tree and it's flowering a bit later. The tui are no longer flying from tree to tree in packs. There are just three or four constantly feeding on this tree and they chase away any others who dare to visit.
I am overwhelmed by all the lovely comments, stars and hearts left yesterday. Thank you so very much.
