The dates the worlds men's curling championships will be taking place in Glasgow, Scotland.  As the ambassador for curling in East Kilbride ice rink, this morning I attended a promotional meeting for the event at the venue, the Emirates Arena in the east end of Glasgow, currently one of the top five indoor sports venues in the world.  The blip shows the main athletics arena that will be converted into a four-sheet ice rink for the event.  No mean feat considering the spacial volume of the arena and the need to bring the temperature down to the level necessary for top class curling conditions. My job is to try to encourage spectators along to the event. 
Also on site is the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome (extra blip) where top class cycling events take place in addition to the general public being able to use the whole of the Arena when available. You can see a lone sprinter, not a world class athlete, in the main picture.
