Mushroom Monday
The weather forecast said fine weather for most of the day, so it was an opportunity not to be missed! I had a lovely walk though some nearby woodland, and was astonished to see huge numbers of fungi - I can't ever remember seeing so many - many species, huge colonies and in some cases bigger fungi than I've seen before. This one rejoices in the lovely common name Elfin Saddle (Helvella lacunosa is its scientific name). In Extras, there are some gigantic Lawyer's Wigs, also known as Shaggy Ink caps (Coprinus comatus) and gorgeous Amethyst Deceivers (Laccaria amethystina)
