Politics is rubbish these days

If ever there were a metaphor for modern politics, this is it. 

Mrs Ottawacker and I are probably decided which way we will vote, and in the interests of a harmonious household, we decided not to divulge until closer to the date. One thing we are united on, however, is the "No Tories" rule. Sorry to all those who might feel slighted by this, but it is simply inexcusable in the 21st century to be putting money for the environment, the health system, refugee aid, social security networks, affordable housing... Simply saying we need oil is not on. Oil is the cancer pervading our society, and we need to excise it sooner rather than later. 

I'm not into slinging mud, but there seem to be an inordinate number of unlikable Conservatives around at the moment - and this is just in Canada: Scheer, Kenney, Ford, Rempel, Poilievre, (pee-hair, in a corrupted translation) etc. etc. - and that is without going into the far right nut-jobs who stand side-by-side with Mad Maxime & his merry marching morons. 

And all the women look the same. Blonde-haired, blue-eyed Stepford wives, marching to the beat of the same vacuous drum. Terrible. But what can you do, except vote them into oblivion. The problem is, of course, that there isn't much better on offer. 

And look at how dumb these idiots are. After having been caught lying about being an insurance salesman - FFS, if you are going to lie, say you have been an astronaut or a ballet dancer or something interesting - our cuddly Conservative clowns went on the attack with some classic "he's an antisemite" mudslinging (it worked in the UK, it'll work here is the theory). Anyway, as you can see in the extra picture, they managed to spell "antisemitic" incorrectly.

But at least that is not as bad as their environmental strategy. And this, I shit you not, is it: Build wider roads so cars can travel faster and release less GHG by idling in traffic jams.

Truly, we are led by donkeys.

If only Greta Thunberg were running. Not only is she quite brilliant, I would also pay good money to hear her talking to Trump.
