The Old Forge (Tuesday 1st October 2019)
While I was waiting in for my Amazon delivery yesterday, I spent most of the time removing all the CDs from one of my shelf units, so that I could rearrange the shelf heights. When put back together again I was able to replace all the tall box sets to the bottom two shelves for the first time, and in 99% alphabetical order.
Today we have had more rain and thunder so I haven't ventured out, but recorded this diary blip this morning.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Victoria Spivey - Dirty TB Blues (recorded 1 October 1929, New York NY)
Luis Russell's Orchestra With Victoria Spivey (vocal) featuring Will Johnson (guitar), Charlie Holmes (alto sax), Henry 'Red Allen (trumpet), JC Higginbotham (trombone), 'Pops Foster (double-bass)
I like to span the decades in these recordings but unsurprisingly the twenties are under represented. Victoria Spivey (15 October 1906, Houston TX - 3 October 1976, New York NY) had a recording career of 40 years or so, beginning in 1926, and was also known as Queen Victoria. This was recorded on this day ninety years ago.
