Mushroom Mystery

There are lots of mushrooms to be found on the golf course just now, though not many end up on the dinner plate and certainly not these ones. I looked them up in my Field Guide to Mushrooms, admittedly seldom used, and they might be Honey Fungus. Then again though, they might not! My book says Honey Fungus should be eaten with caution. My brain says just leave them alone.
