Sir Francis

Out for a run this morning and enjoyed views of Burrator and discovered a rather full Devonport Leat. The overspill from the Leat creates the waterfall photo I took on Sunday.

The weather turned out better than expected so we enjoyed a trip to Buckland Abbey the home of Sir Francis Drake. The main shows a plaster cast used in creating the statues that are found on Plymouth Hoe and Tavistock. The extra is found in the entrance courtyard and the other shows the changes made to the abbey to create a house after the dissolution of the monasteries.

We fit a walk in round the estate before we enjoyed a meal at the Leaping Salmon in Horrabridge. A much better day than we could have imagined given the forecast.
