Floods
Spent most of the day ‘inside’ training a new manager of the prison virtual learning environment. It was a very enjoyable day despite having to work in a prison.
I missed most of the heavy and torrential downpours until I was nearly home where we had to pass through floodwaters in the dip under a railway bridge. The footpath was flooded too, leaving some bewildered pedestrians wondering how they were going to get through.
The drains worked well so that by the time we walked past the site in a brief interlude between storms all water had disappeared.
While driving to Bluewater on the A2 for a celebratory meal to mark eldest son’s 40th birthday we were caught by another intense torrential downpour which slowed most of us down. We’re not able to see Matt in the day itself so it was very good to enjoy the time with Susan, granddaughter and Matt’s mum.
