Hotel Salon

This is a staircase view of the salon area of the Hotel Rector in Salamanca, where we stayed three nights. The space could easily be termed a living room, for the ground floor of the hotel has every attribute of a wonderfully furnished and decorated private home. The staff made us feel every bit as welcome. We took the regular train back to Madrid before noon---fast and smooth (the speed displayed reached 248 km/hour or 154 mph). We're now at a Madrid airport hotel, preparing to fly home tomorrow, on Aer Lingus via Dublin to Bradley.
