Fun Day in Grand Rapids

I’m currently in Grand Rapids for the annual American Horticultural Therapy Association meeting. We had a splendid day, starting with a visit to the amazing Frederik Meijer Gardens, followed by a visit to the Mast Young Greenhouses.

The weather wasn’t bad - misty, cloudy, a bit windy at times but all-in-all a good day to be looking at plants.

I found this bee-like creature which iNaturalist says is a Helophilus or hover fly sipping from a dwarf cleome at the Mast Young Greenhouses.
