Where It All Started....

Had a walk along the dam wall at Baitings Reservoir, Nr. Ripponden this afternoon.
The view here is looking down Ryburn Valley with Ryburn Reservoir in the distance.
In the foreground is the service road from the base of the dam wall up to the top.  This used to be a popular 'Hill Climb' for Huddersfield Motor Club and where - in the early 60s - I had my first foray into the world of 'Motor Sport'..... 
Driving an MG Midget I got a 2nd in Class award (as I recall there were only 4 competitors in the class) - but it was a start....:-)
My extra is the centre overflow feeding the excess water down into the River Ryburn and then into the lower reservoir.
