The David A. Neely Homestead

On the Washington States Historical list and considered one of the oldest still standing home in Kent Washington. When the family moved to the area, they laid claim to 320 acres and built a cabin along the river which is now known as the Green River Valley. That cabin also was a General Store and the first Post Office in Kent. Neely served as the first Postmaster. 

This home was built in 1885 and occupied by Neely's daughter Ruby until 1986 when she passed away and donated the home to the city, Today this home is rented out to small gathering. The gardens have be planted to have plants that were common in the late 1800's around here. Produce grown here is donated to the local food bank
