An Adventure - Day 20

Spent the day on or around Lake Titicaca - visited one of the Uros - floating islands made of reeds which grow in the shallows -the reeds also used to built houses and boats - learnt about the unique lifestyle of the inhabitants - even got to dress up

Had a traditional Peruvian lunch at Taquile - a UNESCO Site - soup and grilled trout caught in the lake served with home grown quinoa and salad - on this island men are taught to knit at the age of five and produce the majority of the textiles

Stayed overnight with a family at another UNESCO site - family spoke only Quechua - a form of Spanish - much gesticulating took place - played football with the villagers - helped make tea with family after trying our hands at traditional Peruvian dancing
