The Hippy Heron Shake 2

I had another stab at the jay with acorns but didn't nail it. :(

This heron was doing its toilette. I hung around for a while waiting for it to take off but it continued preening. I've captured it mid shake. These birds produce special powder down which they distribute around their bodies with the bill. They then comb it out with the comb on the claw of their middle toe. It's like greasy talc and when removed from the plumage it takes dirt with it.
