Day Trip to Sanlucar De Barrameda
Walked down through the little cobbled streets from our apartment to a breakfast sport near the bus station. Passed by the port and saw the biggest ship in the P and O fleet called the Britannia. A floating village I would say, or town more like.
One hour on the coach and we were in Sanlucar further up the coast. Famous as a place that Columbus and Magellan the Portuguese explorer took a sojourn from!
We had lunch in a pretty plaza that was quite buzzing with locals and after that had a look in the local market, again full to the brim with produce of every colour and fish of every size and shape.
We walked uphill to the Palace of Medina Sidonia and had the most chilled out coffee in a Cafe in the grounds filled with flowers and banana plants. Pretty.
Next was back downhill to the beach where every February they have horse racing. Across the estuary is the Doñana National Park but we had no time to take the ferry over. Maybe another time..
Coach home - meal in another top class restaurant called La Candela, mainly Tapas and later such a good sleep despite being the the middle of town zzzzzzz.
