A quick trip to my local park ..

I nipped out for a bit of supermarket shopping, but bored to death with being locked up with an elderly mother decided to sneak a few minutes in my local park.

When I last lived in Hull (30 odd years ago) the animal section of East Park was a shameful row of 3 wire cages .. two with sad little birds in them, and the third with unhappy looking marmosets.

Now it's fabulous - I was hard pressed to choose which photo to post - there's was a fabulous crowing cockerel, beautiful peacocks, every colour of exotic bird - but in the end it was the Shetland (?) ponies that have won.

They were so cute - running about like mad things, being silly and giddy and full of joy - and when they stopped for a breather they just seemed so affectionate - the very best of best friends :)
