Nathaniel came in with us at 6.15 saying he was cold. Mr C retreated to Nathaniel’s bed. By 7 I’d had enough and gave him the iPad to do jigsaws on. Ella slept till 7.30.

After breakfast they did their homework- Ella, now in Year 3, had got 10/10 last week for her spellings so was determined to get the same again. She has progressed to joined up writing since I last saw her. She likes a laugh does Ella. She learned a new word when reading today - ‘fragrant’. I told her what it meant and asked her to make up a sentence with it. “My farts are fragrant” was her sentence.

Nathaniel is in Year 1. He only had to write about his favourite book. He did the minimum.

After lunch of mince and tatties with peas and carrots we went to Cragside where they were the only children doing the barefoot walk over the stones and mud.

They needed a bath when they got back. We’ll be having an early night as it was late last night.
