Clean and ready
It's 08:50am and I'm out washing the car in the drizzling rain. It's my first busy day back to work this year so thought i would shine the car up a bit. I had a new pupil starting to so it's always nice they see the car clean at least once:) It takes me 3 pails of water, 2 soapy and one not and I can do it in about 6 minutes. It's not perfect but it's clean and I'm happy.
I really do enjoy my job. I love teaching, I love people and i love sharing life.
I used to wonder when I was younger why older people asked me so many questions about my life and wanted to know all about me. Now I know it was because they were probably just interested. Now I'm the one with lots of questions. People interest me. I like to know why they are the way they are and I like to know what it is they love doing and what makes them tick. I have mostly young pupils so it's great. I also share my life, and if advice is welcomed I am more than happy to share from my own journey and help where I can. I find the best way to do that is by being me and being real. You never know when your journey might just speak to someone and bring great encouragement and hope.
I have built up a lot of friendships over the years and a lot of pupils I manage to keep in touch with after they pass their test. In fact, I even taught some of my best friends to drive. We even managed to stay friends:)
Switching off when I'm not on a lesson is something I haven't mastered yet. Just let me drive and all will be well.
It's good to enjoy what you do.
