Eric

Passing through Edinburgh Airport and saw this statue to Captain Eric Melrose Brown, a record-breaking test pilot, wartime naval fighter pilot and native of the city. His achievements are listed on the board behind the statue, so I'll not repeat them here. Quite a guy, though.

In other news: 5th October 2019 was the 50th Anniversary of the first broadcast of Monty Python's Flying Circus. Made me feel old. Don't think Captain Brown flew with them.
