Cog and Steam

We rode up the side of Mt. Washington on a cog railroad.  Top speed was 5 mph but the car was enclosed and warm so we enjoyed the ride.  The peak is over 6500 feet and is one of the most famous stops along the Appalachian Trail.  It seemed strange to watch people set out into the cold, dry, thin aired, rock covered landscape with little more than a backpack and walking stick.
