A day in the hills

An excellent day in the mountains today. As we're staying in a ski resort, we hopped on a trio of gondalas/chairlifts to get to the start of our walk at 1800m. Following a big crowd of Japanese retirees (dressed in fantastically bright clothing, looking like butterflies!), We went up to a high tarn and then up a ridge above, aiming for a hut at 2600m.

My hip was getting a bit sore so we turned back and enjoyed the walk back down to the last chairlift and (hurrah!) a plate of chips!

As you can see, we were treated to a cloud inversion which was great after the grey day in the valley. Lovely and warm.
