Not even poorly
Fruit. Not in my home of course; I have it for cooking but you'll not catch me eating it raw.
I took this because when I saw it I remembered that before they were rebranded what we now call kiwi fruit were known as Chinese gooseberries. I can still hear my father calling them that. Of course then one would be more likely to see, and eat, plain old English gooseberries - I can't remember when I last saw them in a shop. Gooseberry Fool was a staple sweet on many of the menus we prepared when I worked in flight catering after catering college.
Tomorrow I'm going to Camden which is known for displaying the exotic - I'll see if there are any gooseberries.
