Dublin day 3

And the reason why we came to Dublin, a day's conference on Encountering the Sacred: the archaeology and heritage of pilgrimage. This was held in Dublin Castle and was just fantastic! Nine speakers, each one riveting, on subjects as diverse as sacred mountain in prehistoric Ireland to the wonders of Gobekli Tepe in Turkey to a pilgrims' eye view of the Camino to the uncovering of Buddha's birthplace and what that means for the locals! Much food for thought.


An over stimulated brain was well fed by a delicious meal in a veggie café followed by another film - Ad Astra! It looked astonishing, Brad Pitt was superb but rather a daft plot - basically Brad was having a nervous breakdown, had father issues and had to go an awful long way (Neptune) to resolve it.
Another long walk home and so many people still out and about.

The iconic Ha-penny Bridge  just had to be walked over.
