The High Road

The High Road goes the length of the island at the spine….it is used by BC Hydro to service the poles and power stations and by the folks who live on the west side of this less than 2 mile long island as docks aren’t possible on the steep Trincomali channel side.  (the left, looking north here)


I think this is the tree that caused the power outage (only 3 hours) yesterday.   We are walking back from our friends’ dock on the Montague Harbor East side where ever cautious H had us move our boat in anticipation of big northwest winds predicted for tonight.   If it happens we’ll be glad it’s a tad more protected than at our dock…and if it doesn’t happen that’s OK too!  :-)    I really hate wind so go to my studio.  It’s almost 5PM and it hasn’t yet clocked around from the south.
