Aberlady Bay
From Gullane Point, on a wild and windy day. We started from the nature reserve and were warned off going via the beach because of flying sand and we did find the route with a wrong turning or two. I don’t know why, but we’ve always had problems with that walk, it’s a kind of personal Bermuda triangle. There weren’t a lot of birds around apart from at the start where there were little egrets, curlews, mallards, a lone swan and some wigeon. I think mostly the birds had more sense than to venture out in the wind. But it was good to do a walk, probably the furthest I’ve been since my last but one hip problem, and I’m not faring too badly afterwards.
