I was sitting quietly in the kitchen when a movement caught my eye. We have a mouse issue at this time of year after the harvests. They seem to make a beeline for the house and run riot around anywhere with food. This little fellow was going in and out of the ‘live’ trap, nibbling on the walnut bait, leaving it, walking across the ‘Terminator’ trap, then back to the walnut. I couldn’t believe that the traps were not working. Eventually, he (or she) pulled hard enough to set off the live trap. Extra pic is of a trapped rodent, to be released at a suitable distance from the house. I’m sure we have homing mice, as they seem to multiply after telling their mates how kind we are. Looking at a drop of nail-varnish on the fur next time to see if they really are coming back.
