Variety is the spice of life.
We had 4 tickets for Ralph McTell on Monday next but our friend is undergoing chemotherapy and although he's doing well he's not going to be up to it. After a well judged tweet the City Varieties got back to me and agreed to vary their returns policy and take a pair of tickets back. We went into the box office this morning to sort it out.
Then we headed over to the RSPB reserve at St Aidan's. It turned into a lovely day. Our walk disclosed numerous bird species. None of them close enough for a good picture the highlights were a Great White Egret, a Grey Heron and a Marsh Harrier. We also saw a kestrel, a Red Kite, a Great Crested Grebe and I think a Reed Bunting. All alongside the usual swans, coots, Moorhens, Mallard, Canada Geese, Blackbirds, Magpies and Starlings. Fab.
