Forty Arches

After much deliberation, my blip today is of Digswell Viaduct.
I went to see my aunt and cousin for lunch. My aunt, 96, walked across the green to the pub, she's amazing.
Anyway, I go through Digswell to get to my cousin in Tewin. Several of the family aunts and uncles lived in Hatfield and WGC when I was growing up, and it was a regular Saturday night gathering at someone's house and as a young child I would be put to bed after dinner in a sleeping bag, then carried home asleep. But partially waking when transferred to the car, I always waited till we'd gone back past the scary arches before going back to sleep.
This viaduct is on the East Coast Mainline and is about 170 years old. I think it's a fabulous piece of architecture (now I'm older).
Extras of our lunch venue and a wider shot of the viaduct.
