Giant Tortoise

Our last day on the Galapagos Islands started very early at 5am.  We had our last trip to Santa Cruz to see the giant tortoises on our way back to the airport.  It was lovely to see them in the moisture of the cloud forest.

Our trip to the airport involve dinghy transfer, bus, ferry and bus to Baltra.  Then a 90 minute flight back to Guayaquil.  Then it was minibus to a hotel to freshen up and grab a bite of lunch before minibus bak to a very chaotic, heaving with people airport.  We managed check in, security, immigration and more security before being present at a KLM 100 years celebration party!  We took off from Guayaquil at about 7pm for Amsterdam.

Fantastic holiday.  The Galapagos Islands exceeded all our expectations and we enjoyed all our Ecuadorian Experiences.  A long way to go, but worth every bit of the trip!
