Rainy Day in Texas
Central Texas finished 2012 about 5 inches of rain short for the year. We get the vast majority of our water from man made lakes that capture the runoff from rain. So you can imagine our lakes are not full.
True to Texas form, we get all our rain at one time. Often they call the storms, Frog Chokers. Today was not one of those yet. The weatherman claims we will get 2 to 4 inches by the time the front passes tomorrow afternoon.
I was out walking my big dog and dragging Flame the Wonder Dog to a patch of grass on the other side of the freeway from our condo. We live on the 9th floor of the brownish building in the foreground. The Omni Hotel sits behind us hidden in the fog.
The car streaking by is on his way east towards Dallas. The TRE train that I catch most mornings to go to work is between the freeway and our building.
