Fan-tastic

Reeds in the inlet beginning to bend as they fade on their journey into winter fan out in graceful gestures. Those on either side forming an arch to frame the clump taking centre stage.

I found this a tough one to process because their was so little information in the highlights to provide any detail or colour. So I decided to reduce detail and colour and darken the reeds to emphasize the graphical shapes and patterns. Although I shot this in 3:2 format, I think it works better as a 16x9 to give the stage like feeling.

I think I might have made a different image had I taken multiple exposures for highlights and shadows, which normally I only think of with bright sky and dark land type shots.
