Flower Friday . . . Kowhai

Firstly thank you for the love for the wee wax-eye yesterday.  I was surprised.  My Fuji camera has settings that are supposed to be similar to the original Fujifilm colours.  Having viewed some of the October colour blast blips I used the Velvia one and that is why the colours in my blip were intense.  
Today we drove down to Christchurch to spend the weekend with the lovely daughter.  My sister is having a celebration for her 80th birthday on Sunday.  I quickly plucked this Kowhai flower and brought it inside.  You can see the seeds from last year, new leaves and the flowers.  Under the tree there is the beginnings of a yellow carpet as the petals are falling now.
