Dahlia Bloom
As it is Flower Friday today I thought I would take some more flower shots using my new life size converter and 50mm macro lens but on this occasion I chose to use them with a canon body as I am more familiar with using this camera. I found that there is a limited optimal distance between the camera lens and the object of between 4 - 9 inches. However, there is a wide range of apertures you can use from f3.2 - f45 which gives you quite a bit of control over depth of field. I can't say that I have ever come across such small apertures as f45 previously. For my blip of a dahlia bloom I chose to use a small aperture to give me sharpness from the front to the back of the bloom.
