dawn

The morning crescent, two days away from a new moon. I took this on my way back from walking Youngest Son to the school bus. It was a lovely frosty morning and I stayed outside watching the mist rise off the river. I had grabbed my new binoculars as I ran out if the door, and was rewarded by spotting a wee goldcrest pecking in the bare branches of a lilac bush. First time I have ever seen one in the garden. Its feathers were so puffed up that it was like a tiny ball!
