Hal-açaí-cyon days
I waxed lyrical about açaí today to Ilidio in my Portuguese lesson, and I’m not sure the lure of it grabbed him the same way it did for Erlyn and I in Brazil. Not everyone is going to share in my excitement to start using a bar of açãí soap, unwrapped this morning. I shoved it under Ilidio’s nose, grinning expectantly, and he was forced to make general platitudes. There are a few other products scattered in the bathroom for exciting future use.
Good news though that the Brazil trip seems to have helped with the whole Portuguese thing, as we managed a good conversation in our first lesson for a while. There were only a few Spanish intruder words that he had to prod me on.
