Harun's brooms

I see these brooms every morning. Harun, the caretaker here at the office, uses them to sweep up the leaves which dropped on the lawn during the night. The bristles (for lack of a more technical term) are actually taken from dried palm fronds and then tied together with a hunk of cut-up inner tube from some warn-out tyre. In this photo, the two brooms were put together thus creating the cris-cross look while their shadow fell on the stone wall (the one we sit on during lunch time).

Yes, the boss is back so the creativity wanes but the desire to produce interesting work is as strong as ever!!
