High Water on the Saltford Avon

The recent rains have had an impact on the rivers in the area. Back in my village the Little Avon has been flooding nearby fields, and here in Saltford the Avon proper is if not flooding then very high.

The morning was filled by a local council's planning seminar, where we were shown how best to make representations on planning applications in our parishes (and why they probably won't make any difference...).

Lunchtime I rejoined Janet at Sheol and Cathy's for a smashing lunch and postprandial promenade along the riverbank. And now, home again, it's dark outside and we ponder the Oktoberfest at the local pub. Sigh... ;-)
