Beer Bottle?

We found this buried in our garden along with a lot of other debris, but this one is intact. I don't know if it would have contained beer or some other drink.

I remember Strongs from my youth. They were based in Romsey but had many pubs in Southampton, the New Forest and surrounding areas.Tragically they were taken over by Whitbreads, I think in the 1960s - goodness knows who owns the pubs now.
