And another reason I miss Alice's memory. 
I do not have the foggiest inclination how this got into my clutches.
I've never been to France, just passed through it; once on a school holiday to Switzerland 1959 and once en route to Morocco 1970.
I can only surmise that, for some reason or other French Fire man/men were in Penrith for some reason or other & this was either an exchange or a token gift. Similar with a Tyne & Wear cap badge also in my possession.
