Surgeons' Hall, Edinburgh

Today was dedicated to a series of birthday surprises for Mr hazelh. These were:

1. Operation Odyssey at Can you escape with Bruce and Elly.
2. Coffee at Holyrood 9a (also with Bruce and Elly).
3. Lunch at the 1505 café.
4. The 'blood and guts' tour at Surgeons' Hall (blipped).
5. Birthday cake at home.
6. Dinner tasting menu at Le roi fou: sweet potato and ginger soup; Hebridean crab; Orkney scallops; fennel gnocchi and chanterelles; beef in miso broth; venison and Jerusalem artichoke; chocolate mousse and ice cream - plus fizz and wine (hic!)

It's been a lovely day, especially in the autumn sunshine.

Exercise today: walking (19,022 steps).
