The old curling pond

This hasn't seen much action as a curling pond for over 100 years but volunteers have begun the daunting task of trying to cut the overgrowth back and see if it can be salvaged in some way. Talk about a labour of love. There are some very old twisted trees just lying like this in the middle of the pond.

The old curling pond is about half way on my traditional Sunday route with the dog, along the riverbank and through the woods. Today's music choice was some cool Scandinavian Jazz from Ketil Bjørnstad which suited the freezing cold and driving snow very well.
