Beaches

Wandering along this magnificent stretch of impossibly deserted beach, my latest way of pretending to keep up some level of fitness, I was pondering what it is about beaches that just fills my heart with such delight. Certainly part of it is the wide horizons and endless views which bring such a feeling of freedom. Also it is the feeling of the sand and ebbing waves around your toes. Then there is the sea breeze and sunshine against your skin but I think for me the thing that really makes it so special is the sound of the ocean. It has the power to make the rest of the world shrink almost entirely away and brings about such a feeling of peace and contentment. And that’s all before I’ve even gone into the water.
That was this morning, this afternoon I went for the most incredible massage which I don’t even know how to begin describing but I suspect it is probably quite addictive. Best £12 I ever spent!
