Another Cake....Why?.....Just Because.....!

Well because of several reasons actually.......!
1. It's my daughters favourite cake......!
She's been very helpful to me all over the Christmas hols..so I thought I'd treat her...
2..I felt like baking today....I also made the Brown Bread behind it (may not be visible)..
a new recipe ....delicious...
3..I got to use a 'new gadget' that she bought me for Christmas...A Microplane Grater..
believe me if you don't have one of these.......you need to get one!......mine is the Fine one for zesting.....it's going to get a lot of use...!
4..The cake is square because I had a lovely new cake-tin up in my cupboard that had never been used...so that got it's first outing....
5..Then I just had to go to Woodies to get a 'Square' serving plate as I didn't have one...and while I was there, I just had to buy these 'dinky' little square dessert plates...and a little whisk for making sauces...spending some of my Christmas present cash...
6..So, after all that it's a Lemon Curd Madeira Cake.....and that's because I found an open jar of Lemon Curd in the back of the fridge that needed using up!!!!!

Kitty says he wants some...he's here beside me on his chair fast asleep......!
