Ready to pick

Quite a few years ago I rescued 2 small apple trees from a friend’s garden as they were about to be discarded - one of them is still quite small although reasonably fruitful but this one has grown well and I needed to use a step ladder to pick these apples.

The ancient Bramley that gave us such an enormous crop of cooking apples last year has produced very few this year - I suspect the blossom may have been frosted at a critical time.
