Tech!
This was the finale of a tech rehearsal of ‘Singing in the Rain’. It should have been a performance but there was a hitch last night with the water during the first Act of the rehearsal which meant they couldn’t finish the Act or do Act 2 as a consequence tonight’s performance was cancelled!
Disaster as friends Ron and Ian had flown down specially to see it, so Grace arranged for us to go to see the rehearsal this evening so they wouldn’t miss it all together.
They really enjoyed seeing what goes on with the technical side of a production (you can see all the banks of computers etc here in front of the stage, which are normally hidden away, with the techie staff in headphones), Chris and I are all too familiar with the stop/start of tech rehearsals.
We saw most of the production too which we all thoroughly enjoyed and lucky us we get to go and see it again on Saturday night as Grace was quick to secure us additional tickets when the news of the cancellation went out early this morning.
We all went to the Aerospace Bristol Museum this morning which Ron and Ian really enjoyed. They are as mad on Concorde as me and I didn’t mind going and seeing it again in its 50th year.
We had a pleasant pub lunch and then later picked Eda up from nursery.
All round a great day, even some sunshine! Well done BAOS for pulling out the stops against adversity. Looking forward to seeing the show again without the interruptions on Saturday!
