Lavender hill mob

There seem to be lots and lots of critters lurking in the lavender. It's a little ecosystem all on its own. 
But it really does need cutting back.....
I think this is a harlequin.

In the extra is a rather magnificent caterpillar I saw wandering along the road. I don't know where it was going. I tried very gently with the tip of my welly boot to persuade it back into the long grass , but no it swerved out into the road again on some kamikaze mission to get to the other side I suppose. Hope it made it before the X19 bus came along. I think it might turn into a Pale Tussock Moth if it survives.
I thought it was a row of sweetcorn kernels at first.
